Meet Paul & Angela Wheelton
In the early 2000s, Life Education came to Surrey Hills Primary School
Paul was amazed when his children came home to tell him about what they had learnt on that day from a giraffe called Harold who lived in a caravan with stars on the ceiling. It was the only time during the year that his children had spoken about what they had learnt on this particular day. Following on from this we were keen to try and understand more about this program and style of teaching.
At a time when society and government had virtually given up on drug and alcohol education and turned totally to a harm minimisation agenda. Life Education appeared to be the only program that stopped children jumping off the cliff. Les Twentyman often says his organisation is one of many at the bottom of the cliff cleaning up the mess. He goes further to say that Life Education is leading the charge to keep them away from that cliff. Acquiring vital skills and tools to build a sustainable, successful and prosperous life. As leaders, we strive to instill the passion of education and learning to give others the confidence and courage to embrace their dreams and turn them into reality.
Paul and Angela recently retired from the corporate sector. They spend their time within Wheelton Philanthropy and have made Life Education one of their 3 pillars that include Education, Health with a focus Women & Girls. Much of this work is directed towards the smaller Melbourne based charities that operate at the coal face.

Driving the growth of the future generation
Celebrating 12 Years of Partnership in 2025
In 2025, Life Ed Victoria celebrates 12 years of partnership with Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) — a collaboration built on shared values of community and empowering young Australians.
IAL has supported Life Ed through funding, truck donations, auction items, and ongoing involvement in key events. Their contributions continue to help us deliver vital health and safety education to children across Victoria.
IAL Director and COO Andrew Harbison said:
“We are honoured to be a long-term partner of Life Education, which has helped millions of Australian children make better decisions and lead better lives. It’s a genuine investment in our future generations.”
In 2024, IAL’s support enabled the launch of two Body Safety modules, reaching 675 students in Early Years to Year 2 with tools to recognise and report unsafe behaviour — impact that will grow in 2025 and beyond.
Samantha Nanni, CEO of Life Ed Victoria, said:
“Our partnership with Isuzu Australia shows the power of business and community working together. Their support helps us protect and empower more children every year.”
